Released in 1968, Mason Williams' "Classical Gas" is among the most familiar instrumental pieces of all time. Williams' work on the Smothers Brothers' "Comedy Hour" gave him the opportunity to have his composition heard by the American public. A twenty-three-year-old arranger named Mike Post finished the arrangement, and the rest is history.
